One important aspect of successful dye sublimation printing
is down to the quality of the design to be printed.
Below is a list of commonly asked questions and information
about how to ensure that you provide the best quality image for
the product you want printed:
Answers to commonly asked questions
Will you give me these instructions
after I've made a purchase?
Yes - don't worry if you don't get all of these instructions
down right now. Once you've made your purchase you will be taken
to a page that recaps all of the points below.
What file formats do you accept?
We will accept gif, jpeg (jpg), pdf, and bitmap (bmp) formats.
What aspect ratio (length versus
width) should my image have?
The best size for the design depends on the product you are having
printed. This information is given on each product page and may
also include a downloadable template in PDF format. If there
are red guidelines on the template, don't forget to remove them
before you submit your finished design.
What is the best resolution
for my design or photograph?
Anything from 300 dots per inch (DPI) or above will provide good
results, although 200 DPI or greater will be acceptable.
To work out the dots per inch of an image, divide the length
of one side of the image (in dots or pixels) by the same dimension
of the finished print size in inches. So, if you want your design
to fill an A4 (210 x 297mm) size sheet of paper, the width is
8.3 inches. If the width of your design is 2500 dots, then the
resolution is 2500 divided by 8.3 which gives 301 DPI - great!
The following table gives some guidelines on how big you image
should be (in pixels) for some common paper sizes:

|
A4
(max print size)
210 x 297mm
8.3 x 11.7 in |
A5
(half A4)
148 x 210mm
5.8 x 8.3 in |
A6
(half A5)

4.1 x 5.8 in |

Can I have a grayscale (black
& white) image printed?
You can have as many or as few colours in your design as
you wish. Please remember, though, that dye sublimation printing
works best on white or very light backgrounds.
Do you accept RGB or CMYK images?
If you don't understand this question, don't worry - just
go on to the next as it won't matter. If you do know what we're
talking about, please send us RGB images!
What is the largest file I can
send?
IMPORTANT: Please do not send very large files by e-mail.
Many e-mail servers will not allow large e-mail message through
and your order may therefore be delayed. We recommend keeping
any one e-mail message below 2 megabytes (MB). If you have several
graphics to send, put them in separate e-mail messages to keep
the size down. For very large graphics files we recommend that
you supply them on CD-ROM.
How do I send the image file?
You can e-mail your design to .
IMPORTANT: Please see the notes about file sizes above.
If your design is on CD-ROM, please mail it to:
